Les Américains, du Nord comme du Sud, portent dans leur inconscient collectif l'obsession de la ville. Les auteurs latino-canadiens suivent cette tradition de redéfinir les limites urbaines à travers la diversité. Qu'ils vivent depuis quelques mois ou de nombreuses années hors de leur ville d'origine, le regard qu'ils portent sur elle la transforme à travers le souvenir et la distance; de même, leur vision des villes canadiennes porte les traces de leur exil.
