This is a true-life heartwarming story about 18 year-old Carley Allison and her battle against a very rare form of melanoma, that only affects one in 3.5 billion people. A truly gifted figure skater with ambitions to perform in the Olympics, and an aspiring pop singer to boot, Carley goes through intensive treatments to try to cure the disease. Supported by her loving family and very devoted boyfriend John Servinis (played by Luke Bylik), Carley eventually makes a miraculous comeback. Not only does she sing the national anthem before a hockey game at the Air Canada Centre, she becomes a YouTube sensation with her musical creations, all before the age of 19.
This heartfelt story of young love and overcoming adversity will not leave a dry eye in the house. It was largely shot on the actual locations where the real-life story unfolded. Luke Bilyk and Sarah Fisher are both alumni of Degrassi: The Next Generation. But what is most moving is to learn that actor Sarah Fisher is portraying her real-life best friend Carley in this moving true-life biography.
