Because bears are a key part of the raucous plot line, we thought this enormously enjoyable romantic comedy was ideally suited to the Whistler Film Festival. Our hero Colin is madly in love with Quincy, the perfect woman. Perfect in all regards, that is, except for a visceral fear of bears. He decides it would be really cool to bring Quincy up to a remote mountain cabin, set things up so that she gets to confront her worst fears, and then, propose to her knowing that she has now become a better person. The fact that she may simply not be that into him has never dawned on him.
It is a backwards set-up for a very funny movie, especially when a real live bear shows up (as they are sometimes known to do) to throw all the best made plans into comic turmoil.
